After many months and many requests, we have completed the lesson plans that are used in conjunction with the Kidbudget System. The lesson plans are meant to teach kids financial literacy in a fun and engaging way. When used with the Kidbudget System and taught in this environment, students retain more of what they learn and actually look forward to learning financial management.
Children today are taught spelling, history, science, and math. It is equally important that they learn life skills as well, such as learning to set goals, track their money, understand needs and wants and budgeting. The Kidbudget lesson plans take a step further with many more games and activities designed to aid the parent or teacher in teaching the principles found in the Kidbudget System. The lesson plans walk students through the workbook in an engaging and interactive way.
The lessons can be used in a homeschool setting, a school classroom, as well as by parents in a more formal teaching environment. Here is the breakdown of what comes with the curriculum:
- 8 lesson plans covering 8 different areas of finance. Some of the topics included are: What is money, Long-term savings, short-term savings, giving, etc. (The first lesson and additional materials can be downloaded for FREE here) These lessons can be taught over 8 weeks, 8 days, or whatever schedule fits into your curriculum.
